New Ferrari F1 2012 Sneak Peak

The most popular Formula 1 team. Yeah, I guess that's why there's a lotta people already speculating about their new car.

2012 Pirelli Formula 1 Tires

OK, folks.

This article is posted under "Forum Snatch and Grab". I'll repost some interesting stuff posted at F1 MANIA INDONESIA in here. All credit goes to the wonderful people of F1MI

"Houston, we've had a problem here."

5 Most Legendary F1 Helmets

Helmet, other than to protect the driver (at the beginning it was nothing but a coconut shell), has become a media of expression. Some drivers keep using the same helmet livery throughout their career, some are not that faithful (What's up, Seb Vettel?). Generally, the livery is attributed to the driver's nationality and sponsor(s).

Those are some of the most legendary Formula 1 helmets, biased to my own opinion:

5. Chris Amon

Classic.

Chris Amon or Pete Aron?

4. David Coulthard

3. Jackie Stewart

He's got a good career in Indianapolis as well.

Whooaa.

2. Michael Schumacher.

Schumi's helmet was transformed - a source said red is Corinna Schumacher's color of choice - because his previous helmet was deemed too similar to Rubens Barrichello's. The transition from Bell to Schuberth did give Schumi a lil bit contract trouble.

Schumi has a small head size, 54 - too small for the reporter above. The names of his children Gina Maria and Mick are also written inside his helmet in Chinese characters.

1. Ayrton Senna

Legendary. Simply legendary.

Sadly, Senna's helmet was not able to prevent his death in 1994. Yeas later, his compatriot Felipe Massa escaped a horrible accident at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix when a loose spring from Rubens' car (another Brazilian driver) struck Felipe's helmet.

Hmmm...

5 Voices of F1

Some of you would prefer to watch the race without any commentary. Yeah, sometimes I also find those pundits or host are there to ruin my enjoyment in the living room.

Nevertheless, we have listened to many great voices in F1.

5. Martin Brundle

“There are four compounds [of tyre] through the year: hard, medium, soft and supersoft; that’s silver, white, yellow and red – not a very sensible progression. I think you’ve gotta think of it as knife, toast, butter and jam as they get softer through the progression of the rubber.” - MB

The only reason I listen to Brundle is because he's still active doing his job.

4. James Hunt

Awesomeness.

3. John Watson

I always think that he is Ben Edwards's best friend. I found Jeremy Shaw sometimes sounded a lot like John, tho.

2. Murray Walker

Self-explanatory.

1. Ben Edwards
Ben at His Best!
Energetic and insightful. When he's doing CART races on Eurosport, he did everything better than James Allen. As you guys might know already, many of Ben's work in official F1 season review DVDs are very disappointing, but I know it's not his fault.

THE TRUE WINNER: Clive James

5 Most Dramatic F1 Finishes

Did you just say that watching a Formula 1 race is only exciting at the start? I bet you saw too many ads on TV. Like it or not, the checkered flag is the one that really decides the winner of the competition.

You can't win a race on the first turn but you definitely can lose everything there.

History has spoken the undeniable truth, you will never win the world title until you WIN it.

Photo-finish, accident, or team order. They've all made sure that our hearts should not stop beating until the checkered flag drops.

5. 1959 US GP

Jack Brabham clinched the title with style.

4. Brazilian GP 2008

:o

3. Brazilian GP 2003

Yellow flag 101.

2. Italian GP 1971

Who needs KERS and DRS?

1. Italian GP 1993

9/10!

5 Lost F1 Teams

Nothing is impossible.

Oh really? Please raise them back from the dead then.

These are five teams that should rock F1 world one more time.

5. Andrea Moda

Just for the heck of it...

4. Brabham

History maker, plenty of innovation.

3. Tyrrell

Jackie Stewart, Francois Cevert, Ronnie Peterson, P34?

2. Minardi

It's not about Toro Rosso.

1. "THE ORIGINAL" LOTUS

Totally impossible?

5 Things I Hate from F1

I hate to hate. I always try to avoid the word "hate" at all costs. Well, it may cost me something when I say "hate" to something I love.

5. Love-hate Relationship.
During off-season, my body and soul feel hurt because there's no race going on. When the season kicks off, bad, I mean bad, bad things happen along the way.

4. ITS GOVERNING BODY
Technology restriction (that includes cutting down videos on YouYube) is quite a popular thing, but technology implementation such as KERS and DRS did nothing more but made me puke on the TV screen.

3. F1 as a "show"
Darrell Waltrip might say that NASCAR is a "show", but F1 means R-A-C-I-N-G, at least I believe it should. Staging a race at Marina Bay and Yas Marina is a disgrace.

2. Indonesian Media Press
Total disgrace. In addition to GombalTipi's beyond legendary wisdom, I have no hope whatsoever to any F1 resources from Indonesia. Where in the world is F1 Racing Magazine Indonesia? In Indonesia? I wish.

1. Fan Wars (not that thing one to cool your day)
It's not my problem if you are a die-hard, hardcore, or fanatic. However, being a fanboy will only make you look stupid. If you happen to say "boring" while you are watching a race on TV, I recommend Bozo the Clown for you.

5 Future F1 Materials

B*tch please.

5. Danica Patrick
Not a big fan, just wondering what her fans are gonna do.

4. Tatang Sulaeman

3. Rio Haryanto
Not trying to sound jingoistic here, but please have a look at this guy.

2. Dale Earndhardt, Jr.
NASCAR's most popular driver.

1. Dick Trickle

PS. I told you I don't smoke anything.

5 Most Difficult World Circuits

Where do you guys usually go on trackday meeting?

Maybe that "track" on the video is too impossible for Formula 1 car, way too difficult. But how difficult is too difficult, or perhaps, how impossible is too impossible?

These tracks are known for their difficulty, in many ways.

5. Streets of Monte-Carlo
I often find myself kissing those guardrails. I believe it's not that beneficial for my health.

4. Skyland
Impossible creativity.

3. Lippo Village
Difficult to be completed on time. I cried, then I laughed.

2. Nuerburgring Nordschleife aka The Green Hell
Pure horror.

1. Sentul
Much to say after its glorious yet not that glorious era. It's virtually impossible to get a car out of the gravel trap, You don't want a fiery crash here, not so many marshals will even have a clue to save you. Professionalism is nothing but everything this track needs.

PS. I say no to illegal street racing. A BIG NO-NO.

5 Coolest/Hottest F1 Sponsors

"Too bad, his career is over, he's not able to find a sponsor to support him."

It seems like a common tragic story in the world of auto racing, especially in Formula 1 where money could actually TALK.

How many pay driver do we need?

Here are some of the most famous or not so famous sponsors in my not so humble opinion:

5. Cool Spot stuff
A massive humanitarian tragedy.

4. Osama
No comment.

3. John Player Special
Golden era.

2. Camel
Appeared on several cars.

1. Marlboro / The Barcode thing
The Icon

PS. I don't smoke cigar, not even weed.

5 Most Experienced F1 Drivers

5. Kimi Raikkonen
Jumped straight from Formula Renault to F1. Became a world champ, feeling sleepy, tried his luck on dirt, feeling sleepy again on ovals. HE IS BACK TO F1!

4. Rubens Barrichello
Over 300 Grand Prix starts, elusive homecoming win, a victim of team order, and beat the crap out of The Stig. Still, no world crown.

3. Michael Schumacher
The champ, "The Face of F1", an occasional rainmaster, penalty-prone, broken leg, peacefully retired, returned as the oldest driver on the track.

2. Eliseo Salazar
0-1-0 (1 TKO loss)

1. Alex Yoong
Sensational racing career. Star Sports couldn't agree more. They need his experience.
